Till we meet again
A poem about moments and goodbyes
By E.M
The angels called, they said you needed to go
With pleading eyes, I held - I couldn’t let you go
Stay, I said.
You smiled, I held you tight.
Just a few more minutes.
I want to say my goodbyes.
The angels called, they said it’s time.
Rivers of tears.
I held you tight
You smiled and said, till we meet again.
As you faded, so did my light.
The heavens opened - so did my cries.
Trumpets and cymbals echoed as you enter the gates.
So did the cries of the people you left.
You were welcomed with arms wide open.
So did the pain, crippling through my system.
Arms wrapped around the earth, hoping to feel one last warmth.
But the cold took over, like winter wrapping December.
The soul craved your embrace
The heart seeks your love.
The body longs for your warmth.
The eyes wander hoping for a glimpse of you one last time.
Heartbroken, love has nowhere else to be.
I thee offer my heart, just for one more time
Frozen in time
Can you hear my cry?
I love you, I whispered.
Silence deafening.
Heart shattered like glass.
There’s truly no more.
— Written with love, and left here gently.
